Self Employment Schemes for SC/BC in Haryana

 

 

  • Financial Assistance for training to Scheduled Caste candidates in un-organized sector through private institutions

From the year 2009-10, a new scheme namely “Financial Assistance for training to Scheduled Caste candidates in un-organized sector through private institutions” has been launched to provide employment opportunities to Scheduled Castes in unorganized sector, under which Scheduled Castes persons whose family income does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakhs p.a. will be given short-term training in Computer, food processing, carpentry, dress making, Hair styling & beautician, plastic processing, automobile repair, electrician, plumbing etc. During the training, stipend will also be given to the trainees.
  • Up-gradation of the Typing and Data Entry Skill of the SC/BC Unemployed Youth through Computer Training.

A new scheme namely “Up gradation of the Typing and Data entry Skill of the SC/BC unemployed Youth through Computer” has been started from the year 2009-10 for the unemployed SC/BC youths. Under this scheme un-employed youths belonging to SC and having annual family income not more then Rs.1.50 lacs p.a will be provided free one year training in Data Entry in six Pre-Examination Training Centres being run by this department. During the training a stipend of Rs 250/- p.m is also provided.
  • Tailoring Training to Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes Widows/Destitute Women/girls

Under the schemes Scheduled Caste widows/destitutes women/ girls whose parents are covered under DRI scheme are given Rs. 100/- per month as stipend and raw material of Rs. 150/- per month is provided during the one-year course. A new sewing machine is also given free of cost to each trainees after the completion of course. At present 83 community centre are being run by the department and recently all sewing teachers have been trained on line of modern sewing technic. In the year 2009-10 Rs 96.91 lacs have been spent to trained 2100 girls/women.
  • Creation of Employment Generation Opportunities by setting up Employment Oriented Institutes/Training Programmes.

A new scheme namely “Creation of Employment Generation Opportunities by setting up Employment Oriented Institutes/ Training Programmes” has been started from the year 2009-10 with a motive to provide employment opportunities to Scheduled Castes, under which Scheduled Castes persons whose family income does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lacs p.a. will be provided short term training for different trades like driving, paramedical, automobiles, food processing, Air-Hostess etc. During the training, stipend will also be given to the trainees.
  • Scheme For the Pre Examination Training of Scheduled Castes Candidates For Taking Union Public Service Commission and State Public Service Commission Examination.

This is a scheme of State Government.

Purpose

Six Pre-Examination Training Centers are functioning at Ambala, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Hisar, Rewari and Karnal. These Centers are imparting one year training to Scheduled Castes students in type and shorthand (Hindi & English) and also trained Scheduled Castes/Backward and Minorities candidates for preparing them for the competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, State Public Service Commission and Banking Recruitment Board for the following Examinations and in securing suitable employment either in the public sector/private sector:-

Haryana Civil Service, Assistant Grade, Stenographers, Lower Division Clerks, and Upper Division Clerks any other competitive examination for which number of students becomes available.

The training imparted to these persons will increase their ability to employability.

Educational Qualifications

  • The minimum educational qualifications will be those laid down by the Commission
  • Matriculation for Stenography typing (English & Hindi Course)

Age

For Competitive Examination:-

Only those candidates will be admitted for the training that will on completion of their training be within the prescribed by the Commission.

For Stenography Typing Course:-

Candidates should be below 16 years not more than 31 years.

Duration of Course

The duration of the Stenography Typing Course one year from 1st August to 31st July every year. For Competitive Examination 2 to 3 months.

Subject for Training

The Candidates will be taught type, short-hand, Essay, General English, General knowledge, Office accounts , besides Lectures for Assistants grade and H.C.S. Examination on various subjects like Public Administration, Labour and Social Welfare, Indian History and Culture, World History Political Science, Hindi, General Economics, Indian Law Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, International Law, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology etc. etc.

Date of start

The centre will start functioning w.e.f. 1.8.69 starting date for these courses will be such that the time between the date of completion and date for examination is the least so that the candidates would still be fresh enough from the course to be able to take the examinations.

Stipend

The trainees are given a stipended of Rs. 100/- p.m. per student for Stenography Course.
